Bio
Abdullah Alfarrarjeh is a master's student in computer science at the University of Southern California (USC). Enthusiastically, he is looking for PhD admission in a reputed university. He is interested in the areas of graphics, vision, HCI, and multimedia. His graduate courses are in these areas and he strongly believes he can contribute to research in them.
In USC, Alfarrarjeh researched on a real-time traffic video analysis project at the Integrated Media Systems Center (IMSC) and published a paper on this project in DNIS 2013. Recently, he has become part of MediaQ project and he is mainly involved in finding efficient query techniques in video databases to select the minimum number of candidate frames for generating panoramic images. In his graduate courses he implemented a set of projects such as motion interpolator, physical-based simulator of jello cube, roller coaster simulator, ray tracer, height field, and graphics library. In addition, he incorporated an online multiplayer feature in USC Game Engine using RackNet and GameSpy.
Beside research, Alfarrarjeh was a software developer for over 5 yrs in the Information Technology Centre at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) which has been providing technical services in the field of IT since 1972. He was involved in developing many web-based applications for different strategic governmental and private institutions in his home country, Jordan, and abroad.
