About Me

I was born and brought up in Kolkata, India. I have a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut, India. I am currently a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science, University of Southern California. My research interests are in Deep Learning and Representation Learning, especially for visual semantics and healthcare applications. I am interested in developing new algorithms and applications at the intersection of these fields.

I worked as a Research Assistant to my PhD advisor, Prof. Raghavendra, in the Predictive Analytics lab. I worked on projects involving oilfield data and those involving healthcare data. I continue to work on healthcare projects as a part of my PhD research.

I worked with Prof. Knoblock and his team on the task of predicting the next location of a smartphone user using sparse GPS data. I also worked on designing workflows for adding Data Mining features to their Data Integration project, Karma.

PhD in Computer Science Currently Pursuing

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at University of Southern California. My research interests include Machine Learning applications in multiple domains with a focus on Deep Learning, Representation Learning, Visual Semantics and Healthcare. I am co-advised by Prof. Raghavendra and Prof. Natarajan. I work on projects involving semantic understanding and retrieval of images. I also work on multiple projects to improve healthcare through Machine Learning. I am enrolled in the Health, Technology and Engineering (HTE@USC) program in which I work with medical students at USC Keck School of Medicine to come up with innovations to improve healthcare.
