USC Shodokan Aikido is taught by Mark Colopy-sensei, currently second-dan.

Commonly asked questions.

How much does the class cost?

Trying the class, or a few classes, is free. However, once you've decided to join, there is a fee. The Lyon center charges members either $60 for a semester or $100 for the year. Half of that goes to pay for the room, while the other half goes into club funds for doing things like purchasing new mats.

Should I wear anything in particular for the class?

Standard gym clothes are fine. Once people decide to join, they usually buy a judo-gi. However, there aren't any specific rules regarding proper attire.

Can USC alumni attend, or do I have to be a student?

Yes you can join.

Is prior experience with Aikido or another martial art required for attendance?

No, the majority of our students don't have any experience with Aikido before joining.
