Aikido

Aikido is a Japanese martial art that focuses on joint locks and throwing techniques. It emphasizes breaking an opponent's balance, and using their energy against them.

Shodokan Aikido

There are multiple styles of Aikido. There are two main differences between Shodokan Aikido (also called Tomiki Aikido) and other forms of Aikido. First, beginners tend to focus on relatively fewer techniques at a time than in other styles of Aikido. Second, Shodokan Aikido is the only style of Aikido that has competitions.
