All About ADX

FAQs

How much time does being involved in ADX take?
We have a dinner meeting every Monday night at 5, which usually lasts 3-4 hours.  We also have 3-5 sisterhood events throughout the semester. In they past, they have been: going to see Wicked, making jewelry together, and having a hat making party to benefit Invisible Children.  We also have a philanthropy event each semester. Every week, we hand out Friday morning hot chocolate on Trousdale (a main thoroughfare of campus).  The largest time commitment is during pledgeship.

What is the monetary commitment with being involved in ADX?
Pledge dues are around $700 with a payment schedule due throughout the semester.  Pledge dues are higher than actives because of the start up fees involved, so when activated dues will be less. It is our hope that financial problems will not hinder membership in ADX, and we have scholarships available as well as payment plans. Please talk to our treasurer if you think this will be a problem

So, ADX is basically AGO for girls, right?
As much as we enjoy social fellowship and similar interests with our brother fraternity Alpha Gamma Omega, ADX was founded separately, having its own distinct aims and purposes including:

To strengthen the spiritual lives and testimonies of the members of the National Sorority resulting in service and outreach to others.

To promote higher scholastic standards among the members of the National Sorority.

To provide social fellowship among the university students living the Christian life and active in Christ’s service.

Historically ADX has been more inwardly focused as a support network for the women involved, however we at the Epsilon chapter desire to add to this tradition by increasing our evangelical community involvement as well.

Sorority? I don't think that's for me…
Please do not be turned off by the label 'sorority'.  We definitely experience the sisterhood you expect from a sorority: having a common identity and a social group of like-minded women. However, what makes us different is that Christ is our center.  This means our number one goal is to glorify Him with our relationships and actions. We do this by being a support network used to pray for one another, help each other with our struggles and participate in meaningful service activities to further His kingdom.

But, like, we still get to dress up and stuff right?
Yes! We still have fun social events, formal and informal, including an invite as well as girls’ nights out.
