USC VSA is proud to present More Than Words. Our culture night is an exhibit of Vietnamese culture, ranging from traditional dance, hip hop dance, an original play, and a martial arts sequence. Also, there will be special guest performers. USC VSA hopes to introduce a whole new generation of students to the richness and uniqueness of Vietnamese Culture. The event will be held in Bovard Auditorium on March 8th 2008. Doors open at 6:30PM and the show will start promptly at 7:00PM. Admission is free so come and enjoy!

USC VSA is hosting a showing of Never Perfect, a documentary discussing with the issues of beauty and appearance in Asian women, specifically with double eyelid surgery. This event is co hosted with WSA, the Women's Student Association. There will be a question and answer period with Regina Park, the director of the documentary as well. The film will be shown on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, 7:00PM - 10:30PM, Taper Humanities Hall, Room 101.

In Garden Grove, there will be the annual Tet Festival, celebrating the Lunar New Year. There will be lots of fun carnival games and food. The festival times are Friday February 8th from 5:00PM -10:00PM, Saturday February 9th from 10:00AM - 10:00PM, and Sunday from 9:00AM - 10:00PM.

On Febuary 10th we will be participating in a food bowl. We will be showing other clubs how to prepare Vietnamese spring rolls at Tommy's Place from 5:00PM -8:00PM. Come out and enjoy some food and friendly competition.

Come help VSA get sponsorship for our Culture Night production of What a Girl Wants. We will be heading to Orange County to speak to Vietnamese businesses on January 26th and February 2nd. Contact any Executive Board member for more information.

On January 31st, we will be having our annual spring roll party. The event will be held at Topping Student Center 205 at 7:00PM. The tickets cost five dollars. Contact VSA for tickets and come enjoy unlimited spring rolls!

The APASA Winter Formal is today so come out to Town and Gown and dress nicely! VSA will be taking our yearbook photo in front of PED at 7:15PM. Afterwards we will head over to the event. Also, the Thanksgiving potluck will be held at Orchard so please sign up and bring food. The potluck will be held on Monday Novemeber 19th, at 7:00PM.

UCI is holding the 7th annual Rose Pageant "Midnight Dreams." Doors open at 6:00PM. Come see beautiful girls compete in a friendly pageant for charity (VOICE). Tickets are $5 presale and $7 at the door. If you are interested please message Aline Tran as soon as possible because this is a sold out event. Also contact Aline for a ride to the rose pageant.

Several of our members are heading up to northern California to watch the Golden Bears take on our Trojans. Show your support by coming along or watch the game on TV!

We have a general meeting in VKC 157 on Thursday November 8th, 2007 at 7pm. We are going to discuss our Thanksgiving potluck dinner as well as our club photo for the yearbook. Culture night is an important part of VSA so there will be plenty of discussion about it. So come out and support us!
