Welcome to the 2007-08 USC Chess Club

Meetings		During the school year, we meet every Wednesday evening from 8pm to 10:00pm (show up anytime -- late arrival is OK) - We're now meeting every Wednesday... stop by and say hello, and/or bring a friend! Join us for informal instruction, play at all levels, and a friendly atmosphere.
Location		Cafe 84 USC University Park Campus Behind Webb Tower at Jefferson & McClintock
Who Comes		Anyone can come! We have a great range of beginners along with expert and master-rated players and everything in-between.
What We Do		Usually we'll pair up for some relaxed games. Often time beginners will match up with higher-level players for personalized instruction. We also occasionally hold improvised blitz and bughouse tournaments.

2008-01-24		Our next tourment is right around the corner! The 25th Annual Amateur Team West will be taking place again this year from Feb. 16-18. Information can be found at the ATW site: http://westernchess.com/atw08/atw08.html We will also be playing again this year in CCL competition (College Chess League): http://www.collegechessleague.com/ If you have interest in participating in either of these competitions, stop by our Wednesday night meetings or contact us for details.
2007-05-04		We're breaking for the summer! Our next official event will be the involvement fair in August, but there are lots of tournaments and things this summer if people are interested. 2006-08-23		Fall 2006 Involvement Fair. This is our first event of the Fall.
Summer 2006		We'll be on break throughout the summer. Though our official meetings won't be taking place until next Fall, many members will be attending local clubs. Exposition Park Chess Club meets on Sundays 1pm-4pm right next to USC. Santa Monica Chess Park is also popular among club members. Here are tournaments one or more members may be attending.
